What’s NewMediaRules.net about?

Sometimes it seems that technology is changing the world of communications so rapidly, there’s no hope of keeping up. How do we get our message across in an increasingly crowded marketplace of ideas? How do we use the new tools available today? How do we communicate subtleties of meaning and complex messages in a world of sound bites and 140-character tweets?

I started this new blog in response to the anxiety (not to say panic) I see among those who feel lost in the current environment. Through OverCoffeeMedia.com, I’ve been tracking the changes in the media landscape for several years, and that work will never end. But knowing the changing rules of the game doesn’t necessarily help us become better players.

In short, OverCoffeeMedia.com is about the changes that are occurring “out there.” NewMediaRules.net is about how we use those changes to our advantage.

We’ll focus on applying the timeless principles of sound communication to the rapidly changing world.

Hang on. It’s going to be a fun ride.
